It’s For Dad Female of the Day: Twiggy
After looking into who that model on the Schlitz beer ads, and finding out it’s Cynthia Myers, I think I’m developing an appreciation of long forgotten models.
Models that are so thin today can probably trace it back to the look of Twiggy. The 1960′s supermodel, even though the term wasn’t used back then, she was a very prominent model even though she was just a teenager. She was known for your thin build, big eyes, and sometimes androgynous looks.
She was born as Lesley Hornby on September 19, 1949. When her modeling career started, she changed her name to Twiggy, which is from her childhood nickname Twigs.
This is a relatively newer picture of her today. Taken sometime in the mid-2000′s. She’s still very attractive for an older lady and I’m guessing from this, she was probably around 55 years old.
